Review: Friend Request by David Wailing

This is a review of Friend Request by David Wailing

Wailing does it again!! Once again David Wailing surpasses expectation with this imaginative short story, utilising his now-familiar dystopian future world of the 2020's, where everyone is connected, 24/7.

With some nice nods to his previous books (including Fake Kate), David narrates a fast-paced story, at times geeky, but with enough detail to get even the non-computer literate to understand what exactly is happening.

Though presented as a good thing, what happens when 'being connected' means that all your friends know everything about you? And I do mean everything! Presenting yourself as a loyal, faithful partner, when in reality you are a thrill-seeking pervert, well this is the context of David Wailing's new short, Friend Request. A real roller coaster story, and one which leaves you asking for more.

5 stars

Mr Q! What can I say? Another corker of a review - thank you so much. I'm relieved I didn't let you down after all! You're a star! Clapping hands

David it is you that is the star. I'm just the poor punter who pays for your lavish lifestyle with my hard-earned cash! Seriously, David, I enjoyed the story a great deal, the only problem being that each book I have read of yours only raises the expectation bar for the next one. How long can you keep it up? A seriously long time I hope.

Rest assured, Mr Q, your contribution to the daily supply of pina coladas delivered to my yacht by helicopter is much appreciated.

Very kind words indeed! I hope I can keep you entertained for a very long time. I'm already deep into the next story in the Auto series, so watch this space!
