Sharing kindle books between different kindles? - sezo - 16 Jun 2012 12:38 PM

Hi there,
I'm very much out of the technology loop with kindles and what we can and can't do now.

Is there a way I can 'borrow' an ebook from my friend's kindles to mine, providing its an amazon download and so the DRM is linked just to her account? I know there was talk of a way of borrowing in that the original person couldnt read their copy of the book that was 'lent' to a friend - and they only have 2 weeks to lend out the ebook?

Is that right? How can I do that?

In the UK you cannot lend books between Kindles, unless they are registered to the same Amazon account (and it's generally only family members that share an Amazon account). There are ways to do so but not legally (DRM removal)!

It's only in the US that you can lend someone a book for 14 days.

It'd be nice if it was introduced in the UK but I'm not sure it ever will.
