Valentine's Day film recommendations? - Daphne - 12 Feb 2015 06:51 PM

Does anyone have a recommendation for the perfect romantic film? I've just watched Bodyguard. I've lined up Pretty Woman.

You mean you're not queueing to see 50 Sheds?

There's the old classics - pretty much any Nora Ephron film - You've got Harry, Sleepless in sally, When Julie met Seattle etc

There's What If - the Daniel Radcliffe/Zoe Kazan romcom, just out on DVD. Speaking of Kazan, Ruby Sparks is still worth a watch... Smile

The Notebook
One Day
Prelude to a Kiss
Titanic
Love Actually
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Manhattan
One of my favourites that isn't a conventional romance:
Once Upon a Time in America

As one of the world's least romantic people I prefer a good disaster movie myself but I always enjoy While You Were Sleeping (Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman).

I'm waiting to hear reviews. A romantic film usually depends on the screen chemistry between the hero and heroine, and I don't know yet if they have caught that feeling.
What If is one I haven't seen, so shall put that on my list - thanks.

A truly wonderful film. Love, I suppose, rather than romance, but I too would recommend this to anyone for a Valentine's evening watch.

Yes, this would be in my top five of best-ever romantic films. Perfect for Valentine's Day.
