Won't register - Kas - 05 Jan 2015 06:18 AM ok, I bought a second hand old school kindle, the one with the five way control button.... Do u think I can register it???? Hell no....!!!!! I've tried everything, reset, hard reset, I've done them all, even opened a new Amazon account but still no joy.... It just keeps saying "the email address and password you entered do not match any accounts on record, please try again " I've been trying for a couple of days now to no avail.... Please could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or do I just have a dodgy kindle???? Please help... I would say that I'm a frustrated kindle user, but I haven't got to use it yet so I'm just frustrated....! And secondly, are you trying to register directly on the Kindle or via the computer? If it is still registered to the previous owners account that would explain why you are having problems, and don't ask why, but when I had my original Kindle I couldn't get it to register via the Kindle but it was fine once I did it on the computer. Let us know and we can go from there. You could also give the Kindle customer service people a ring, they are usually very helpful and it won't cost you a penny as they ring you back. It is deregistered (or never was registered), has been factory reset, and I still can't get it to register to my account, All I get is "The email address and password you entered do not match any accounts on record, please try again." To verify, this is the same as my Amazon login, right? If not, where do I find my separate Kindle login? I would say that I'm a frustrated kindle user, but I haven't got to use it yet so I'm just frustrated....!You may have sorted this out but I found that I received a Kindle that was a registered to me that was a gift for someone else I had them deregister my account from the device but they then couldn't login I found that in my personal Amazon account the device was still registered and I had to deregister the device from my Amazon account aswell before they could register the device theirselves |
