It's tricky. I think it needs a tag line of sorts and it's the best I can come up with. Do you think I should drop any comedy/comic reference on the cover?

I don't know. It does have humour in - it's the leaven that stops it being so heavy - the business of dealing with Altzheimer's I mean, not your writing! But it's not a comedy.

I think "comic" sets up an expectation that maybe the book doesn't deliver? (I don't know for sure - just going from your description, since I haven't read the book yet).

Possibly humourous  er hummus er humorous (I can never spell that word) would suggest a less overt humour?

Yes, Tim. It's warm humour. Affectionate humour. To me, comic implies slapstick.

Thanks Tim/Ignite.
I get the distinction between comic and humorous - yes, I'll drop the 'comic' - but 'A humorous Mystery Story' or 'The funny side of Alzheimer's' doesn't sound right. I think I'll update the blurb and re-categorise when the new cover arrives too.
How about simply 'A Warm Mystery Story' ?

Warm's nice. It definitely is! Smile

See, now I don't like the tilly lamps. Having read the book, that was the least relevant. Mind you, I can't remember much of it, so there might be tilly lamps in it that I can't remember.
I remember it being Warm, gentle, sympathetic, nice. Certainly not "laugh out loud hilarious" TongueBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin That's why I liked the gentleness of A.

I like the types of A, but the pictures of B.

As someone else has said, the thumbnail is very important, so something simple like A, but warm colours like the bottom picture of B? (I am such a sucker for pictures of old churches and headstones).

Just my ten cents, but your covers have made me curious.
