To be honest, a lot of people have mentioned it, but it was a small Christmas tie-in to my main novella. I suppose sometimes you do something as a little freebie & people don't realise there's not meant to be oceans of plot or twist. You can't exactly put "My short story lacks plot or much of a twist, I've mostly written it as a tie-in so don't expect a fantastic surprise ending or anything" Big Grin hehe
The thing is Matt even if you DID put that in there would still be someone bringing it up lol

Just the best one-star review ever:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B003LPUXFS/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_one?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addOneStar&showViewpoints=0

Haven't read the book - but I'm inclined to after this (although it's a wee bit expensive for a Kindle)

Hilarious. That kind of review is like gold dust, worth more than ten glowing five star reviews.

I know this wasn't a one star but it does relate to the previous post:

Don't even remember ordering this one. Too many books on the Kindle. Just day's after you order, it seems Amazon wants a review. Like I can' stand the pressure. Ugh!

Three times I asked Amazon to delete the review - no joy!

I had a Danish review much like Joo's example. A reader who complained she could not read my story on her iPad. Everybody else could, so after three mails to the platform they gave in and removed it.

Ive been enjoying some uncharacteristic sales over the last month or so, and with the sales come the reviews.
I've had two new ones in the last day or so. Belters. Sad

1.0 out of 5 stars The only 'horror' was the awful story, 24 April 2014

I didn't like this book at all. I found the story ridiculous and feel sorry I wasted 77p downloading it.

I'm on holiday in France at the moment and managed to get pneumonia on the first day. Several hundred Euros later and hallucinations on a hideous scale I wake up to find that and another equally good one. Can't even stomach a bottle of plonk des plonks to soften the blow.  What a week!

I did notice that the undertaker had overtaken most of the others in the horror genre (and I noticed your stinking, rite-of-passage one star reviews, too). But think about it. What would you rather have:

(1) a handful of five star reviews and a similar number of sales, or

(2) a bout of pneumonia, two one star reviews, a thousand sales and a flirt with the top 1000?

It looks like it's open season on indie authors, particularly kuffers... we're all doomed. Shocked
