Using a .com Amazon Gift Card

Well, much to my first-time-dismay, I can't pick the gift up since my account is a UK one. I thought I might solve it by requesting an exchange certificate, which came, but left me in the same boat.

I've been having a search around, and the suggestion seems to be to change my country in my Kindle account to the USA, but I'd like to confirm with you guys if that will work.

Do you have any other suggestions for me to receive my friend's gift? I feel a bit embarrassed to tell them that, while I'm certainly grateful for thinking of me, I still don't have the book.

So the safe option is to wait for help from customer service, but your friend my just have to request a refund and try sending you a gift voucher from the uk site.
