Just ordered my Kindle Fire

I know that the UK release could be just around the corner, but I had an unexpected gift of some Amazon.com vouchers, so I just couldn't resist.

Fingers crossed, it should be here by Friday / Monday.

Best of all, I managed to get a cover which normally cost $59 for just $12 : http://www.amazon.com...

Looking forward to joining the ranks of the Fire Club.

Very much looking forward to your review of this Lou. I'm tempted, but it would be useful to have the full run down on just what this bit if kit can (and can't) do

Should be here on friday according to FedEx, so I'm getting excited now. Looking forward to finding out all about it and how to work around the US/UK problems. Hopefully it won't be too long til it's released here now.

KINDLE FIRE TIP

As you all know the ON/OFF button is at the bottom of the unit when looking at it PORTRAIT view.

The button can be quite sensitive and chance glance can switch the Fire to stand by mode.

Kindle to the rescue - As KF can be viewed PORTRAITor LANDSCAPE or PORTRAIT or LANDSCAPE by turning extra times. Ensure the button now sits at the TOP. You can now hold or rest the unit without the problem of shut down to stand by.

UNFORTUNATELY - when you reboot - the button is at the bottom again.

This tip works for me though, saves alot of 'tuts' and worse.

KF now sitting at Stanstead airport - I can almost smell it.

I just hope it makes it through customs ok, as I was very naughty as I had it gift-wrapped and put down as a $79 Kindle
