Ah, now this is a test Jan, to see how they deal with queries! Let us know.

Thanks from me as well.
Uploading of books went without a hitch but having activated a theme (Living the Dream) it would seem I haven't!! Hmm - it was mid afternoon so maybe a busy time, too.

My books eventually went through this morning. However a theme suggestion did not. I sent them an email as others have done. They seem to be efficient and eager to please so lets keep our fingers crossed.

RE: New site to add your books - FREE

Hmm, I managed to delete one of my ads… not quite sure how it happened, but when I was experimenting with adding themes, I think I clicked ‘back’ in my browser and did not activate the changes. I then clicked elsewhere in the menu system only to find that my ‘un-activated’ ad no longer existed!

I agree the themes idea is flawed, I am sure it grew 100% during the day that I was messing around with it. It is a nice gallery of book covers though, and the ‘likes’ are useful.

Early days, but looks great!

That's bad luck G, just the kind of thing I do! I do like the set up as such and it's good to see if folks like your covers etc.

Reporting back that I haven't had a reply to my email, or acknowledgement of receipt yet. They might be a small team. I'm used to instant replies of acknowledgement and promises to get back ASAP.

RE: New site to add your books - FREE

Had a reply Smile Seems like they are eager to please.

Hi Jan,

A warm welcome aboard iAuthor!

We value your clear-sighted feedback. We want books to be laser-targeted to their readers, so have added a new category for "General fiction". You're right: "Romance" and "Literary fiction" leaves gaps. Themes are a potent way of filling these gaps, expanding reach, and curating compelling content from iAuthor's global community.

In the medium-term, following investment, we'll look at listing themes in a slightly different way. A text-driven list would be one option. Having said that, the current system already accommodates this. Our smart search-box allows you to input any relevant term, and have the resulting theme display.

E.g. Try inputting the word "South Africa" in the main search box. You'll get a few dozen adverts containing the word "South Africa", your own "South African" theme, and all of iAuthor's South African users. You might wish to follow them!

On a separate note, you're right about certain themes overlapping. E.g. try typing the term "First person" into the smart search box. We have some serious market saturation there! This is almost unavoidable with user-generated content. In many ways, iAuthor provides the "clay", but users do the "moulding". That moulding takes many forms. The key is providing the software to sift through the glut of data so that quality rises to the top. In this, we're almost certainly in agreement.

Let's keep in touch. Should you have any further queries or suggestions regarding iAuthor, please don't hesitate to email us.

Best wishes,

The iAuthor Team
