Thanks for posting your experiences, Tim.

I stuck with D2D (mainly because I find their setup excellent and wanted to support them), and after about six months sales figures have drifted up to about 10 a month (across five titles). More importantly, my work is 'out there' for ipads, kobos etc. - there's more chance of increasing my visibility.

Good Luck with it.

RE: Pulling the plug on Draft2Digital?

Just to be different, I've now abandoned D2D for my 2 non-selling titles and will try them back in Select again once I'm sure they are eligible. I feel it's a bit like re-arranging the deck-chairs on the Titanic but I'm not really too worried by their lack of sales as they were both just books I 'had' to write.

I've had much better luck with my 2 series via Smashwords (though almost certainly only because they are series and not just random novels in different genres), and in fact only this morning I had the nice surprise of finding I had made 2 sales directly from their site, which is extremely unusual.

Are you able to put books on iTunes and does it cost?

Yes, you just need a Mac and an iTunes Connect account. D2D can do it for you too, but I prefer to cut out the middle man where I can.

RE: Pulling the plug on Draft2Digital?

My experience so far with D2D has been good. I've only got two with them as others in select but I'm def going to add as the select periods end. Witch, wolf, vampire has done really well so far this month - had a spike in sales the other day (no idea why) and just about all through Apple/Itunes - 70 sales since 1st Jan. Now this may be just cause it's a new release, I have no idea, but so far it's been a good thing for me. I like the idea that books are available in places other than Amazon, just to get the books out there and hopefully raise visibility.

I'm only with Amazon at the moment. I've found D2D a helpful tool to get my books looking like they should but I've not actually used them to sell my books yet.

It's a lot easier to become visible on Apple than Amazon, either on 'New' or 'Bestsellers £1.99 or less' in the category. With 70 sales in three weeks, you ought to be quite high on one or two lists.

I wouldn't even know where to look to find that out. It must be cause it's new tho I do have that wee promo thingmabob going with bestindiebooks, tho the link there is Amazon and not apple so not sure. I have added it to several sites that you can add books for either free or not a lot (as per Sean and Nav's lists they gave me) so it might be that too plus am starting to use twitter lol!
